Fountain Pen Ursprung

This edition truly writes history.  Its wood lay preserved for more than a thousand years in peat soil —  unearthed and recovered unexpectedly during archaeological excavations.  The ancient oak trunks once formed part of the Neue Burg,  the original settlement from which the Hanseatic city of Hamburg would later emerge.  

Turning these rugged pieces of timber freehand presented Stefan Fink with entirely new challenges.  After centuries underground in extreme climatic conditions,  the fissured, hardened wood proved temperamental and unpredictable.  Through a long and patient process, the limited URSPRUNG Edition took shape – historically precious and of striking beauty.  Its colours shift between umber, earthy and slate-grey tones; the grain remains vividly visible to the eye and touch.  

The edition includes the fountain pens ALBATROSS and STAR, as well as the pocket fountain pen SPATZ. The nibs of all URSPRUNG fountain pens are made from rhodium-plated 18-carat gold.  

Each comes with a tumbled leather case and a Stefan Fink ink bottle.
