The nib. The heart of every fountain pen.
The quality of a nib – its material, shape and finish – determines the precision and steadiness of the ink flow. It governs how the pen responds to movement and gives every line its distinctive beauty. The nibs in Stefan Fink’s fountain pens are made especially for him in one of the few remaining workshops dedicated to this craft – from 18-carat gold, rhodium-plated gold, titanium or stainless steel. A minute drop of iridium, the most corrosion-resistant metal of the platinum group, forms the tiny sphere at the tip through which the ink meets the paper.
Fink nibs are known for their elastic, spring-like character: they respond softly as you write, allowing the ink to glide evenly and smoothly across the page. They translate and harmonise the movements of your hand – refining them into the graceful rhythm of your own handwriting.
